Augmented Reality (AR) is a fascinating technology that recognizes real world objects in real time and merges them with digital content, creating an enriched experience that goes beyond reality.
As Augmented Reality technology matures and mobile smart devices become more powerful in terms of computing, processing and public availability, there has been an increasing interest within the scientific community to study the potential uses for and effects of AR in education. Today, there are dozens of research papers with concrete results that show the benefits AR has on learning. We’ve designed PleIQ based on this research. Any smart mobile device (tablet or phone) running on an Android (version 5.0 or higher) or iOS (version 11.0 or higher) operative system. We recommend a minimum of 1GB of RAM, an ARMv7 (Cortex), CPU or Atom CPU processor, and OpenGL ES 2.0, which almost any smartphone or tablet has today. The more megapixels the device’s camera has, the easier it will be to scan the cubes.
PleIQ is recommended for children from 3 and 8 years old. Nevertheless, it could be used for children younger than 3 with parental assistance and for children older than 8 as the experiences are very entertaining.
Currently PleIQ experiences are available in English and Spanish, but we look forward to adding other languages in the future.
PleIQ comes with 48 Augmented Reality learning experiences, divided between the interactive alphabet, numbers, and the challenges/games for each intelligence. We plan to expand the PleIQ universe. Subscribe to our newsletter to stay informed.
